FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Microblading is a form of cosmetic tattooing, performed with a handheld tool compromised of tiny needles that create hair-like strokes in the skin. Powder Brows are a form of cosmetic tattooing created by using a handheld tattoo machine that replicates the appearance of a makeup like “powder” look. So traditional microblading is just going to look like eyebrow hairs and powder brows will have the appearance of being shaded in. You can also do a combination of the two or “combo brows”. You do not need to know which one you want to book, we will decide together at your appointment as they are all the same price
Make sure to not do any heaving drinking the day before or of appointment. Do not drink any liquids after midnight before your appointment. All liquids thin the the blood and blood pushes out pigment. Also avoid caffeine, as it is a vasodilator and will open your pores and increase blood flow to skin. We don’t want that! Make sure to not take any aspirin or other blood thinners at least 2 days prior to appointment Make sure to not have any laser treatments 2 weeks before or after appointment Avoid AHA’s (lactic, glycolic, citric, retinoic and tartaric acids) or any over the counter creams & lotions for tone correcting, anti-aging, exfoliating or acne. These can cause fading or discolor your permanent makeup Don’t pluck or wax at least two weeks before your appointment that way when you come in, I have more hair to work with on creating your shape. If you have plucked, waxed or threaded, that’s okay too. Just my preference that you don’t. Don’t get a sunburn, I won’t be able to perform microblading on sunburned skin
Absolutely! We can create thicker brows by incorporating more density.

Yes, I have lot’s of clients come in that are already pretty happy with their brows but want a more precise or “done up” look. Through microblading, you can have eyebrows that are more symmetrical, dense, or shaded that you don’t have to worry about putting on everyday or coming off in water or while sweating

Of course, just like with any hair color there is a natural range of ashy and warm tones we will customize to match your hair.

The first 10 days are the most crucial. You can’t get your eyebrows wet, be in the sun or expose them to any chemicals or makeup. Think of them like a normal tattoo. The skin is basically an open wound, just in a superficial/shallow layer of the skin. For the most part, after that you can return to your normal routine.

No. The lidocaine and pigment may be absorbed into the bloodstream.

Your skin may be a little red from the minor trauma it’s just undergone but basically you’ll just have bomb eyebrows that look fresh and vibrant. You can continue with life as usual after the appointment is over.

My clients are always pleasantly surprised at how well the numbing cream works and how little they feel.

Yes, I have a specific pigment line made for redheads that covers all colors.

That just means have a blank canvas to work with. We can still create natural and real looking eyebrows!
